Humanitarian aid update till 25/11/2023

I was pleased to participate in the 11th regional conference for the Asia-Pacific region. The role of the Egyptian Red Crescent Society in the current humanitarian crisis was presented, focusing on operational and humanitarian diplomacy levels.

As a continuation of the humanitarian services provided to the Gaza Strip, the Egyptian Red Crescent is working to provide humanitarian services to the people crossing through the Rafah crossing and the injured and their companions who were received by Egypt until November 2023.

The volunteers of the Egyptian Red Crescent work on providing assistance to all those in need at the Rafah crossing.

Throughout history, women have a major role in humanity, since the beginning of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

The work is still ongoing even in bad weather conditions. We must also not forget the climate change and its negative effects, which can make the current disaster more complex and its effects will be severe.

Finally, the newborn babies were transferred by the Palestine Red Crescent in the midst of these difficult circumstances. Thanks to the Egyptian ambulance authority for their readiness with 35 specialized transport vehicles.

As a neonatal doctor, a large number of these Newborns in El Shifa hospital will die due to lack of medical care. Even transportation requires equipped ambulances for newborns. Egyptian ambulances on the border are ready. Where is the international community?

A delegation from the E U, visited the الهلال الأحمر المصري in Cairo and Arish, represented by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the Director-G , Maciej Popowski, to discuss mechanisms for providing humanitarian aid through the Egyptian Red Crescent
