Honoured to open today’s “Citizens can defeat Disinformation” conference in Lisbon, co-organised by the European Economic and Social Committee & the 🇵🇹 Conselho Económico e Social. Disinformation spreads quickly, but when citizens, civil society & institutions join forces, democracy strikes back stronger.

Honoured to speak at the EUROPEAN TRADE UNIONS Mid-Term Conference in Belgrade 🇷🇸 & to catch up w/ Yolanda Díaz! I reaffirmed our support for #EUEnlargement & called for a social model that puts people before profits, by defending workers’ rights and promoting dignity & fairness for all.

The EU is & must remain a beacon of inclusion. 🌈 As part of #PrideWeek, we held the joint conference "Proud in Europe" with European Committee of the Regions. We stand firmly with the #LGBTIQ+ community within & beyond our institutions, protecting their rights is protecting democracy. #IDAHOBIT

Great to meet with Ukrainian Women's Fund 🇺🇦, a driving force for gender equality, human rights and inclusive recovery in Ukraine. We stand with those building peace and resilience, where women lead the way in security and reconstruction. #StandWithUkraine

Glad to meet USG SRSG Ms. Patten, UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict. We discussed urgent action to protect victims in Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan & RD Congo and how to advance the Women, Peace & Security agenda, with #CivilSociety central to these efforts.

On EU Cancer Awareness Week, we call for a united EU approach to fighting cancer through: 🎗️ more coordination on demand & supply of early vaccinations; 🎗️ improved access and supply of nuclear medicine; 🎗️increased funding for radiological technologies. #EUCancerPlan
