@emerson_vma junior Brian Chanders' short film ‘Nesting Doll’ adapted from the short story of the same name , was screened at the Lowell Film Festival for Future Filmmakers, and is also set to screen at Hollywood ShortsFest this year.

In yesterdays' masterclass, “Emerson College & Your Career As An ARTrepreneur”, Broadway HD Founder and CEO Bonnie Comley '94 discussed seizing opportunities and being open to learning diverse skills. Afterward students had to opportunity to talk with Comley one-on-one.

@emerson_vma Media Arts Production sophomore Nathan Calev wrote and directed the film “What Goes Around” which won Best Student Short at the Dallas Shorts Film Festival and received an Honorable Mention at the Los Angeles Film Awards last fall. Congratulations Nathan!

We are delighted to share that @emerson_wlp MFA student Adam Swanson ’25 has been invited as the inaugural Literary Arts Fellow at the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology in Oregon. The center conducts workshops for reflection and creation at the intersection of art and ecology.

Congratulations to PA Professor Scott Pinkney for receiving the Helaine and Stanley Miller Award for Outstanding Teaching!

A version of the film is currently on exhibition as part of Whitney Museum’s Whitney Biennial.

As Women’s History Month draws to an end, we would like to highlight the Elma Lewis Center. Named after Elma Lewis ’43, it on community and individual storytelling as a testament to Lewis’ dedication in bringing the arts to the black and brown community.

Congratulations to Performing Arts BFA students Aisha Akorede ’26 and Sofonyas Alebachew ’26, who have been accepted to the Shakespeare & Company Summer Shakespeare Intensive program on full scholarships! The program allows actors to immerse themselves in Shakespearean theater.

The SJC is women-led with Vice President for Equity and Social Justice Shaya Gregory Poku overseeing work towards a more just environment across our campuses. Tamera Marko directs the Elma Lewis Center, Alayne Fiore HIVE, and Melanie O. Matson the Healing & Advocacy Collective.

The much awaited 23rd Annual Emerson Film Festival is happening tonight!
