A couple weeks ago, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting announced they will be shutting down due to the loss of federal funding. I haven't commented on it here, partly because we saw it coming, but also because there's not much else to say besides "advocate for public media."

Basically every episode this week has at least one segment dealing with school or reading books. Props to the PBS Programming Dept for scheduling this in advance.

With 54 years of history yet no major fanfare, Nelvana Ltd. closed its doors this past week. Some know this animation studio for their work on Rock & Rule, Star Wars Holiday Special, Droids and Ewoks. I knew them for incredible 90s shows that captured my imagination as a child.

literally THE most foundational company for so many fellow canadians and it got shuttered with no push back. I hate that this react is related.
