Academic writing tip:
While a journal's word count can flex, it is wise to stay within the limits at the submission stage.
ECF = 6,000-8,000 words. Since ECF discourages discursive footnotes, please don't use those for your extra words.

The use of certain words and phrases goes through cycles, and I've noticed many fads over the past 21 years.
An adverb returned to heavy rotation recently is 'ultimately.'
I hope this goes out of style soon.
As long as it's not replaced by 'ostensibly.' 😅
Have a good day!

At submission, the ECF editors do *not* require Chicago Manual of Style formatting.

Please do follow the part about the abstract, since a convincing abstract can persuade a scholar to provide peer review of your manuscript.
