To foster food environments where plant-based options are widely accessible, the Commission must prioritise the adoption of a Plant-Based Food Action Plan by 2026, as called for in the Strategic Dialogue’s conclusions. 📖 plantbasedfoodalliance.eu/wp-content/upl…

🌱 It’s a myth that #PlantProteins are ‘inferior’ to animal proteins. All plant foods have all essential amino acids, just in varying amounts. Eating a varied diet with a mix of #PlantBased foods throughout the day provides your body with all the #AminoAcids it needs. 💪

The Commission’s Vision for Agriculture & Food is a cautious attempt to tackle the mounting challenges in the agri-food sector. While it acknowledges the need for action, it lacks a clear policy roadmap to drive real change. Our position: tinyurl.com/3yxvetmx

🇪🇸Spain just moved to recognise plant-based meals in schools. This new legal framework explicitly allows families to request special meals for ethical or conscience-based reasons, which includes the right to access 100% plant-based menus. Unión Vegetariana 👏 euroveg.eu/spanish-govern…

Consumers are not concerned about using names like ‘veggie burger’ or ‘plant-based sausage’, as long as it’s clear the product is #vegetarian or #vegan. This is a clear signal to #EU policymakers that people value clarity & are in favor of harmonised, evidence-based labelling. 💡

Consumers deserve access to clear information that enables them to choose sustainable and healthy food options. ⚖️Restrictions on terminology for plant-based food products risk limiting transparency, stifling innovation, & adding complexity with no benefits for consumers.

🔍Transparent food labelling is a consumer right, not a regulatory afterthought. Europe needs harmonised, science-based labelling rules that reflect how people make food choices and support the transition to healthier, more sustainable diets.

🧠 Only 9% of consumers don’t recognize plant-based meat alternatives. The current denominations clearly work — for people and for sustainability. Restricting them risks real harm: undermining clarity, limiting consumer choice, and putting the brakes on a growing sector.
