Congratulations to the Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival (CARES) on their incredible new video, which explains why you should measure performance to improve. Behind every statistic is a potential survivor! #SystemsSaveLives #NAEMSP2022 #FOAMed youtu.be/XDzdaLDOwDo

I often turn to my favorite authors in times of turmoil. With the world where it is, I find myself in their words often. Searching for lessons. This one felt especially important:

The slope of death means that for every minute without intervention, a cardiac arrest patient's chance of surviving decreases by about 10%. High-performing systems alter the slope, giving patients a 50% chance of survival. Thanks Tom Bouthillet for a GIF to explain this concept.

Had a fantastic young man come by and do CPR on our infant manikin. The most touching part was that he was an infant cardiac arrest survivor. First There First Care #cprsaveslives #infantcardiacarrest

Thank you ISP Trooper Flaherty 93 for your quick thinking at an OHCA. Early CPR & AED improves OHCA survival. You have done your part in Snatching Life from the Jaws of Death. Thanks to ISP Trooper Flaherty 93 and other bikers who started CPR, a #RAGBRAI rider lives to bike another day.

Research indicates that a low dose, high frequency training methodology will increase skills retention. It is time to refocus and shift how we train in medicine. lnkd.in/dN3ccb4R #research #cprtraining #cardiacarrest
