P'nawn da We get some very special mornings here at the top of the Dyfi estuary. This was 5:50 this morning. We're very very lucky to be where we are. Bendigedig.

P'nawn da More squabbling over food yesterday - tugs of war this time! The osprey chicks had a little battle, but the local carrion crows showed real commitment!

Bore da This is Coron, the middle youngster, taking off from the nest perch yesterday morning at 07:54 when she was 84-days old We've not seen her since We're not calling her migrated as she could be just down the estuary gobbling up mullet. Lets see what the weekend brings...

Bore da This is the oldest of the three youngsters - Gwenlais. She is defending the nest (feeding station to her) against all and sundry. Telyn, Idris, Coron and Gwelias still here today, Senni last seen Friday morning. Is our boy already in France?

Bore da All four still here this morning, Senni last seen Friday. We're making the most of these views while we still can. Bittersweet.

Bore da Telyn, Idris and their 2 daughters are still around but it's almost a week now since Senni was last seen He could well be approaching Africa this morning, mind you he could equally be approaching Aberystwyth If it is the former here's Senni's age when he went: 84 days

Bore da Gwenlais has survived the over-night storm in much better condition than the nest she grew up in. She's still taking advantage of free food from Dad.

Bore da It's nice to catch up with old friends sometimes. This is Roli that visited yesterday, a 2019 male from Llyn Brenig in north Wales. His mother? Blue 24.

Talking of old friends, this is Eshells on the nest right now. She is another bird that has visited us before. She's from Kielder Forest, Northumberland, a 2021 osprey. Eshells will be prospecting for a suitable nest site and mate for when she returns in 2025.

We had a lightning storm cell pass through last night which knocked out all systems nest-side We've managed to get some functionality back but lost audio and a couple of cameras Gwenlais & Idris is still here today Dates last seen: Telyn: 22 Aug Coron: 22 Aug Senni: 16 Aug

Bore da What a great Dad he is... Idris waiting until his last offspring is ready to go, still provining the food. Just Idris and Gwenlais left now, she is 97 days old today - will she be here at 100 (Thursday)?

Happy Birthday! Today Gwenlais becomes only the 5th (out of 33) offspring to make it to the 100-day mark before migrating. 2019: Berthyn (101 days) 2021: Dysynni (100 days) 2022: Padarn (109 days) 2023: Seiont (101 days) 2024: Gwenlais (100 days ....) Penblwydd Hapus!

Bore da We think Gwenlais has gone, last seen yesterday morning riding thermals and gaining altitude until we could see her no more. Idris waited all day for her grasping one last snack, constantly looking around, but there were no takers. He may well migrate himself today.

Science Sunday Here is the updated 2024 migration age chart with Gwenlais, Coron and Senni's data Gwenlais went at 101.4 days old. She stands equal 3rd with Berthyn (2019) as the oldest Dyfi offspring (n33) to migrate, beaten only by Seiont (101.5 days) and Padarn (109.1 days)
