Our current header photo is Dundee's Tay Rail Bridge. This is the second Rail Bridge over the Tay and was opened in 1887. This first bridge succumbed to a violent storm in 1879 tragically taking up to 75 souls. Search Tay Rail Bridge Disaster for further reading and memorials.

After our AGM, Steve, owner of The Cheesery did a fantastic talk about some Scottish and French Cheeses. Members that wanted to, took part in a Cheese Tasting Battle - it ended in a draw (Scotland 4/France 4)! Find what The Cheesery offers at thecheesery.co.uk

We held another successful French Conversation evening over Zoom with people joining from Blairgowrie, Aberdeen, Bretagne and Dundee. Our next French Conversation night will be on 3rd August. Please look at our website for contact details or tweet. "Au Revoir pour le moment.”

Our header picture shows HMS Unicorn which is a floating visitor attraction in Dundee's Victoria Dock. At almost 200 years old, she is in the Top 10 Oldest Ships in the world. Find out more at frigateunicorn.org

There is a super circular cycle path around Dundee or you can pick up the cycle network and head further along the coast. Our Committee Member, Alastair, is on the banks of River Tay at Carnoustie. It was very sunny, but you can see by the waves that it was a bit windy that day.

Our new header photo shows Dundee's Grassy Beach. This lies between the Stannergate and Broughty Ferry. It is a beautiful walk/cycle. You can often see sailing boats from Dundee Sailing Club and Royal Tay Yacht Club. dundeecity.gov.uk/service-area/n…

We held a Bring Your Memories Night at the Craigie Bowling Club. This gave our members the opportunity to share memories of school exchanges, official visits, holidays and family connections. We did this over French Wine and Cheese, both as local to Orléans as we could find.

We were so lucky that Di Anderson (Garnet Wilson's granddaughter) was with us for our Memories Night. Garnet Wilson was Dundee's Lord Provost from 1940-46. He was invited to go to Orléans in 1946 when Orléans became Dundee's Twin City.
