At the end of our meetings the General Evaluator awards the Cicero to the Toastmaster whose contribution adds measurably to the enjoyment of the evening. Last Monday it went to Germaine D’Alton 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 for her fabulous speech about her time at the Electric Picnic! #Toastmasters

Our second meeting of the year was as enjoyable as the first with a variety of speakers and evaluators. Our Table Topics Master, Tim Barrett, conducted an excellent and varied session but it’s no surprise to hear that the wonderfully verbose John Joyce was awarded the CATT

Guests are always welcome to our meetings as they give us a lift when they stand up and join in the proceedings. We aim to inspire others to try their hand at public speaking, to show that with a little practice everyone can get over their fear of facing an audience #Toastmasters

Everyone’s a winner in our club but at the end of our last meeting the award for best table topic went to our guest, Margaret McLaughlin 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 and the Cicero was awarded to Philip Khan-Panni for his excellent speech 🏆

The first contest of the Toastmaster year kicks off with the Humorous Competition at our next meeting, Monday the 24th of October. All of the members in the photo below entered in previous years. All members and guests are welcome to attend. Best of luck to all participants!

Christmas time at Dun Laoghaire Toastmasters is a great excuse to get out the festive gear once again and celebrate in style. At our next meet, on Monday the 19th at the Graduate Killiney, we’ll have a short meeting after which we’ll enjoy a bite and a sup together 🎄 🎄 🎄
