Yesterday, I defended my dissertation Duke Psychology & Neuroscience! As a friendship researcher, I know how key mentors, friends, and family were in reaching this milestone and I am so grateful. I'll miss Duke University & Durham, but excited to head to Grinnell College for a 2-yr VAP!

My new paper with bridgette martin hard and Jing Liu finds that belonging in Intro Psych and "gusto" for the content predict grades; only gusto predicts future psych interest. Student, course, and peer factors contributed to both belonging & gusto. Read more here: psycnet.apa.org/record/2021-92…
