I didn’t get to watch Dublin Oldschool last night cos I was watching d’abbey theashre programme but I’ve seen it three time and it’s such a gorgeous buzz of a film! And the way they deal with addiction is so spot on and real, having a heroin addict in my family and seeing the

The devastation it causes and the heartbreak of someone trying to get clean and then the heartbreak of when they just give up trying. But to deal with that not in a maudlin preachy “drugs are bad” type way, I’ve never seen it done so well before

And then just a gorgeous film about Dublin and Dublin nightlife that is now actually a time piece, a poem to times gone. No more district 8 or hangar, VERY LITERALLY obliterated and those buildings demolished, it’s sad to see what we’ve lost

But if we’ve learned anything from being starved of social contact it’s how essential nightlife is to us as a city, as a people and we need to come together to make sure that is kept alive and well! We are gonna session on the graves of hotels when all this is over
