Smith called Shandro to ask him to intervene in the Pawlowski case!. Shandro, to his great credit, held his ground.

Trussler explicitly compares Smith pressuring Shandro over Pawlowski with Trudeau pressuring JWR over SNC-Lavalin.

Trussler called Smith's actions 'a threat to democracy.'

Smith did not succeed in her efforts (Pawlowski was convicted), but only because Shandro stood up to her. It is the effort to interfere, not whether it succeeded or not.

Trussler recommends no sanctions against Smith. But voters will have to determine if they support a Premier willing to interfere in the judicial system on behalf of specific individuals. Especially a person like Pawlowski.
