Very saddened to learn of the passing of Drowes regular, ghillie and fly tyer John O’ Neill. John was always ready with a smile, helpful advice, tips and flies and was a popular figure on the banks of the river. Sincere sympathy to his wife Geraldine, family and many friends.

The 2023 fishing season has drawn to a close. Thanks to all those who wetted a line at the fishery this year. The season was marked by extremes of both drought and flood and poor runs, especially of grilse. The 2022 salmon statistics are available here fisheriesireland.ie/sites/default/…

The 2025 fishing season has drawn to a close. Thanks to all those who wetted a line at the fishery this year. It was a difficult season with consistently low water for much of the year and poor runs of fish. We hope for a better season in 2026. Bíonn súil leis an bhfarraige
