Get ready for OSSD meeting #OSSD2023 ! 🔥 Excited to give a talk as part of the Biology of Sex Differences Hot Topics symposium organized by Jill Becker Dr. Jill Becker . Let's discuss 'Why the estrous cycle matters for neuroscience!' bsd.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…

New Huberman Lab Podcast: Optimizing Hormones for Females w/Dr Sara Gottfried MD @DrGottfried •Exercise, Nutrients, Fasting(?) •Microbiome •Puberty Timing/Family History •Controlling Cortisol •PCOS, (Peri)Menopause, HRT •Birth Control Pros/Cons hubermanlab.com/dr-sara-gottfr…

There was no sign of a teen mental illness epidemic until around 2012. Then liberal girls' rates started increasing. Then everyone else. Why? Greg Lukianoff nailed it: Reverse CBT, as I explain here: jonathanhaidt.substack.com/p/mental-healt…

.Marija Kundakovic on why estrous cycle matters...although females are not more variable than males - this does not mean that the e cycle doe matters for understanding E/P effects on certain regions (ie HPC), gene expression, or behaviour bsd.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11….

Dissertation defended! It was a surreal experience to put together all these years of research and to celebrate with the lab & family. So fortunate to have Marija Kundakovic as my mentor and looking forward to taking what I’ve learned from you to a postdoc and beyond!

The end of an era in the Kundakovic lab as we say goodbye to Devin Devin Rocks ⭐️🥹. And Happy Birthday to Maria Maria Tickerhoof ! Stay tuned for all the cool stuff to come out of the great work these young people are doing! Laila Ouldibbat

I am extremely excited to share our Feature Review in Trends in Neurosciences : "Epigenetic mechanisms underlying sex differences in the brain and behavior" cell.com/trends/neurosc…

Last Fordham University Magazine highlights 20 recent star alumni, 2 of my students: Devin Rocks Devin Rocks (now Weill Cornell Medicine Psychiatry ) & Sonola Burrja (now Albert Einstein College of Medicine - Official ), with their research on women's health. Couldn't be more proud! ⭐️ ⭐️ 🥹 ❤️

The work behind my PhD thesis is now out as a preprint! Thanks to the coauthors Eric Purisic, Dr. Eduardo Gallo 🧠🧬🇺🇸🇭🇳, John Greally, @masako_suzuki, and especially my mentor Marija Kundakovic for making this possible 🙏 It was an incredible project to call my thesis, see below for the 🧵!

Couldn’t be more proud! Huge congrats to Devin Rocks Devin Rocks for receiving the SBN Tweets New Investigator Award for his PhD thesis work on sex-specific effects of Egr1 on chromatin, synaptic plasticity and behavior. Such nice talk and so well deserved award! #SBN2024

Thrilled to share my perspective in The Transmitter on how to study the influence of "sex" and "gender" in the brain in a scientifically accurate and socially responsible manner: "Revisiting sex and gender in the brain" thetransmitter.org/sex-difference…

Excited to share Laila’s Laila Ouldibbat first first-author paper & the very first “metabolic” paper from the lab just published at Hormones and Behavior Journal . "The role of ovarian hormone dynamics in metabolic phenotype and gene expression in female mice" sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
