MAY GRAY CONTINUES
Another morning of overcast skies will lead to sunshine breaking out as we head deeper into the day. The coast remains quite cool while inland temperatures remain warm.

MORNING MARINE LAYER
We begin Monday with cloudy skies in many cities with fog overhead. We find brighter skies this afternoon (except along the coast where we are foggy all day). Highs are slightly above average today

We are going to get another shot at seeing the Northern Lights across the Bay Area tonight!

The extreme geomagnetic storm continues through Sunday.

Get those cameras ready again tonight

Northern Lights over the Golden Gate Bridge captured by Hugo Lageneste. Would’ve never thought living in the Bay Area we would ever see the aurora borealis but last night was incredible

When you think about Northern Lights, 99.9999% of those pics are taken by long exposure cameras. IF we catch a glimpse tonight, to the human eye it would look like a faint hue of green on the northern horizon. Regardless this is the best chance the Bay Area has had in years

Sunspot causing all of the solar storminess and aurora potential is so big you can safely see it using your eclipse glasses (if the sun is out where you are) in the sun's southwestern hemisphere. This is known as active region 3664.
