I am happy this came out PEIO/RIO. The paper shows how labour and global financial interests are at odds with one another in the process of globalization. It is open access and can be read at: rdcu.be/dEF9e

We use our Political Leaders' Affiliation Database to test whether sub-national regions where leaders’ spouses are born receive more foreign aid. We find they do.

Our VoxEU column discusses how birthplaces of national leaders' spouses receive more than three times as much aid during the tenure of their partners than the same sub-national region would receive at other times. Check out our new sub-national aid data: godad.me

Do you do political economy research related to any international issues? Then consider submitting a paper for the IPES 2024 conference – my favorite conference is being held in Florence (at the EUI) this year – for the first time in Europe.
