This commission has an important role to play in setting guidelines for judges, and that's why it's so important that President Biden has named public defenders & justice advocates like Judge Gleeson.

The Sentencing Commission, which can set federal sentencing guidelines, has been w/out a quorum for the whole Biden presidency.

Given that the federal prison population has gone up under this admin (after going down under Obama & Trump), this is welcome, if overdue, news.
