A 4 bedded Mother newborn care unit (MNCU) was inaugurated today in PGICH in Department of Neonatology by the Director, Dr Ajai Singh. The walls have also been adorned with educative posters so that the mother can also be educated about KMC and other aspects of newborn care. The Community Empowerment Lab (CEL), an NGO also provided technical support in developing this unit.

आज मुझे नोएडा के पोस्ट ग्रेजुएट इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ चाइल्ड हेल्थ (PGICH) की बोर्ड बैठक की अध्यक्षता करने से पहले संस्थान के निदेशक प्रो. एके सिंह जी के साथ ओपीडी, ब्लड बैंक, नवजात ICU, इमरजेंसी, सीटी स्कैन यूनिट और बोन मैरो ट्रांसप्लांट यूनिट के अवलोकन का सुअवसर प्राप्त हुआ।

यह बच्चों की बीमारियों का इलाज करने वाले देश के 3 सुपर स्पेशियलिटी अस्पतालों में से एक है। दो अन्य तिरुवनंतपुरम, चेन्नई में हैं। विकसित देशों में ऐसे बच्चों के सुपर स्पेशियलिटी अस्पताल होते हैं। यहां बच्चों से संबंधित सुविधाएं जिस तरह बढ़ रही हैं, उसे देखकर मुझे बहुत खुशी हुई।

अकेले बच्चों के अस्पताल के लिए अधिक धैर्य, कौशल, देखभाल, समय आदि की आवश्यकता होती है। इस अस्पताल में 20 विभाग व 288 बिस्तर हैं। यहां प्रतिदिन लगभग 700 बाह्य रोगी आते हैं। हाल ही में एक नया सीटी स्कैन जोड़ा गया है। हमने PPP मोड के तहत MRI लगवाने का फैसला लिया है।

यह भी निर्णय लिया गया कि भविष्य में प्रदेश के सभी सुपर स्पेशलिटी संस्थानों जैसे SGPGI, KGMU, RML, कैंसर संस्थान व जिम्स के निदेशक को ऐसी बैठकों में फिजिकली, डिजिटली जोड़ा जाएगा, जिससे चिकित्सा क्षेत्र की रिसर्च को सिनजाइज किया जा सके व विशेषज्ञता में प्रदेश की ताकत बढ़ाई जा सके।

निर्णय लिया गया कि संस्थान में नर्सिंग और पैरा-मेडिक कोर्सेज को बढ़ावा दिया जाए ताकि ऐसी विशेषज्ञता के अस्पतालों की जरूरत पूरी हो सके। पीजीआईसीएमएच के निदेशक, फैकल्टी और स्टाफ को अच्छे कार्य के लिए मेरी शुभकामनाएं।
