New scientific adventure w/ @LauGherardi! He invited me to collaborate on new adaptation of Nutrient Network focused on disturbance: #DragNet! Today w/ help from Nona & docents Stanford’s Jasper Ridge BP, we set up the study protocol & plots! Super excited to join #DragNet & study disturbance!

Thx to this support, we will expand our AI-species identification pipelines (in collabo with Stan Harpole iDiv Biodiversity Research) from our DragNet Global plots to some of the DroughtNet plots Wytham Woods - with Erola Fenollosa & Andy Hector Oxford Biology

Resurveying our DragNet Global plots. Unsurprisingly a big difference between disturbed and undisturbed... far more plant species in disturbed plots too.


Also, exciting new grazing exclosures co-located with our DragNet Global plots. Hopefully will be part of Nutrient Network and will link into our Ecological Continuity Trust (ECT) long term experiment plots.

It is probably a bad idea to have a DragNet Global site in the wild Louisiana. How am I supposed to break into this plot to do survey? All Lonicera vines over the whole plot. Some plots are worse with all the black berries.
