As an advocate of the shot clock in HS BB, I am also an advocate of a well structured offense that works the ball for the best shot and making the other team defend. A good compromise is a HS 45 sec clock. That is what we started with in College back in the dark ages.

We do need to make major improvements in literacy. Period. But it’s becoming clear that targeted supports can work, and 3rd grade retention is not a necessary condition to making those improvements. It may even harm kids later in life.
