…And they (we) are here for you. We must all take care of each other and lead through this horrible time in our world’s history.

There are more patients in the hospitals than we have beds. To ensure we are able to help you when you need it most, get vaccinated. Get boosted. Get tested. Get masked. iuhealth.org/covid19

I’ve seen “mild” used as various times in reference to Omicron’s impact on vaxxed, unvaxxed, prior infected, kids, hospitals, deaths. But ask any ED / ICU doc- I guarantee they won’t describe their current work + stress level as mild. So can we please stop calling it that? 🙏🏽

It’s not about the severity of the illness on the individual level. It’s the stress on the health care system based on volume. The line at the ED for testing takes away from “emergency” care. Agree with Dr Chung that this will get worse before it gets better. 😞

On an INDIVIDUAL basis, Omicron may be roughly as severe as influenza & much less for those up to date on vaccinations. But on a SOCIETAL basis because the number of infections is so high in such a short time, the risk of overwhelmed health care is much higher. Vax. Boost. Mask.

Rebel_One Chaplain Dollar Tree Darth Vader Not only are we the only developed country where people go bankrupt often from med bills, we die younger. This is through 2018 and our LE has dropped another 2 yrs since then.

Left work with 42+ in the waiting room and 90+ in ER. There are beds available upstairs but no staff. Because most of staff are out with COVID-19.

Everyone is the hospital is working really hard right now, but I especially wanted to thank our residents. You all are being tested like very few generations of trainees have been historically. I really appreciate all that you're doing for your patients.

Proud dad moment… My daughter, paramedic for the past year, was the treating paramedic for a STEMI patient for whom I performed the primary PCI.

Then find the group of people (both staff and residents) you like working with and get along with…those you can lean on and those you won’t mind when they lean on you…

The new CDC mask guidelines tell people to check with their doctor to see if masks are recommended. Yes. The answer is yes. Don’t waste your co-pay (health care should be free.) Wear a mask. Tweets not medical advice except for right now. Wear a mask.

Thanks sir for your comments. The world will have fewer willing to serve. Fewer to call upon during time of crisis, fewer willing to rush towards danger than away from it.
