Those who join the best funded PIs/labs/institutes get most awards & fellowships. This means PIs/Inst. who need assistance the least get the most assistance. If awards are designed to reward the rich that's totally fine but let's create alternative mechanisms for everyone else.

What's with the new password requirements for the CCV? Lower case, upper case, number and special character needed, and minimum 12 characters. I mean it's my CV, not my bank account. Next up: 2 factor authentication. 🙄

I'm sad to say that often "allyship" isn't actually real, happening only while things are easy or convenient. The moment things get difficult or require personal sacrifice then people sing a different tune. Real allies are rare and precious.

Indigenous persons bring their culture and so much value to each and every discipline they're in. And they are Mentors to the next generation. Recruitment and retainment of them in traditionally non-Indigenous disciplines is vital. I'll die on this hill.

This may be petty but one of my pet peeves is when individuals address me casually as “Natasha” in their cover letters or emails for a job in my lab. It is Dr./Prof. Rajah within the context of a formal application. #AcademicChatter #WomenInSTEM
