WHO has trained 2180 health workers to deliver oral polio vaccines to children in #Gaza in the campaign that starts today. It’s our collective responsibility to protect health workers while they in turn protect Gaza’s children from polio.

This is how the day starts for health workers in #Gaza this week- preparing for the day, to vaccinate as many children as they can against polio.

Last month, Sudan's health workers braved the rains and floods, in addition to an already complex context, with the aim of safeguarding 1.9m + children in five accessible states from #polio. I'm filled with awe at their resilience.

Health workers in central Gaza vaccinated an estimated 161k children in the first two days of the ongoing #polio campaign, well over our estimated target of 157k children. Very encouraging to see Gaza's children being protected from the unforgiving effects of polio. #EndPolio
