Ticked off a bucket list item yesterday: visiting the largest #aquarium in Europe! It was pretty impressive, much like #Valencia itself. I also got to meet, face to face, the inspiration for the fsbi logo - the bat fish! Fish bliss 🐟💕 #Oceanogràfic

Huge thanks to fsbi for funding my attendance at #fsbi2024 'omics' symposium! Honoured to present my work on proteomic insights to the impacts of intensive chemical use in aquaculture. Loved the fab eDNA workshop, exploring Basque Country and meeting great people🌸🐟🏞️

It's that time of year when we start thinking ahead to #FSBI2025, which we're super excited to announce will be hosted by Queen's University Belfast 🎓! It will also be the first ever joint symposium with our friends at Institute of Fisheries Management! Be sure to put 7-11 July in your diary, as it's not to be missed 🐟

New paper & PhD flashback! Led by Ross Cairnduff the paper looked at diverged genomic regions between anadromous & landlocked salmon. Specifically those linked with smoltification. One SNP showed an impact irrespective of fish size (most important trigger) bit.ly/3XmiXjb
