We idealize success.

We forget it comes with its own set of problems.

Increased responsibility, scrutiny,
and stress.

It’s not always sunny with clear skies at the top of the mountain.

There are plenty of overcast days with heavy rain.

Success does not equal happiness.

This last week, I met two Hispanic women <50 years old with newly diagnosed lung cancer.

They didn’t come to clinic to see me, they were in the hospital.

Both of them were ignored and gaslighted about their symptoms for MONTHS!

Enough! Lung cancer is a disease of women.

Kevin Lee, an MS4 The Ohio State University College of Medicine + newly matched into Neurology was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer in March of 2024.

Since his diagnosis, he’s had a brain biopsy, multiple LPs, and just finished his first round of chemotherapy.

A must read for anyone practicing medicine.
