Rural Arizonans are worried about groundwater depletion. SB1221 pretends to create tools for managing rural groundwater, but it puts up obstacles that will make it almost impossible to implement those tools to slow the depletion. Folks in LD19 are fed up, tinyurl.com/53xk99nh

SB1221 creates a 16-step bureaucratic process that would make it nearly impossible for rural communities to manage their groundwater. Many are calling it a dream bill for big corporations that are already running our wells dry. 🏜️

Importation boosterism helping unify opposition to water leaving places like Missouri. Turns out people don’t want their water taken to fuel unbridled expansion in other places. Who would have thought….

Looks like we’ll need to manage the water we got

Rural communities have pleaded w/ for solutions to unchecked groundwater pumping for years - the've been ignored.

But developers and their hired hydrologists are given a special hearing to complain, push for unwinding protections for homeowners🙄

WATCH this powerful video that shows why we are in dire need of groundwater laws in rural AZ.

It's past time we protect the water for the people who live there and the small family farms -- NOT the large corporations draining the aquifers dry.
