Our resident historian Jennie England is giving a marathon 5 talks today! 🏆 The first 2 have gone down a treat. You have 3 more chances to hear about our curious carvings - at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm. Each talk lasts 10 mins. Meanwhile let’s get that woman a coffee ☕️ #HODs

My purple skinny jeans make a very rare outing these days but here they are in print as Wolsey’s legs. Lovely photo of Jennie England too! Thanks so much Simon Hulme for the mega photography. Have a great weekend everyone

🔬Our roof bosses have been put under the microscope! Jennie England takes us through the fascinating findings from the paint analysis in the latest edition of our heritage newsletter: stmarysbeverley.org/wp-content/upl…

And we’re off! Heritage Open Days is in full swing across Beverley. Absolutely Cultured volunteers and our very own Jennie England share stories & uncover some of the glories of St Mary’s with enthralled visitors. Pop in if you’re down town today! We’re upon until 4pm and it’s free!

Our riff on Heritage Open Days theme of ‘Edible History’: people eating (and drinking) and people being eaten; depicted among the 689 roof bosses which adorn our ceilings. Images from Jennie England’s hourly talks. Catch the last two at 2pm and 3pm.

😢My last ever collaboration as Development Director St Mary's Beverley with Emma Garness Artist. It’s been such a joy to work with this generous, amazing artist. Check out her beautiful backdrops for the #Beveley1300 Paths Of Life event.

A very nice start to Day Two of the festival. East Yorkshire Beer delivers 25 litres of ale to St Mary's Beverley for tonight’s beer talk and tasting!

We’re good to go for the beer talk & tasting in St Mary's Beverley with Prof. Dawn Maskell Dipl. Brew. and Jennie England! What a lovely way to end the day.

View from the back St Mary's Beverley at our beer talk & tasting. Jennie England kicks off with some history on brewing, showcasing one of the church’s magnificent Tudor roof bosses - the Ale Wife. The bosses are the focus of a major heritage project supported The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

[2/2] This clip is particularly pleasing - removing centuries of grime, giving a glimpse of how beautiful the building will look when all is done. Plus a cheeky photo of Rebecca Lumley. Huge thanks to funders & colleagues alike The National Lottery Heritage Fund Department for Culture, Media and Sport Matthias Garn Jennie England.

Thanks so much for the last couple of years Roland Deller!
