Remembrance Sunday hits a bit differently this year - thinking of my fantastic GB para pent team-mates who served in the armed forces

Well, this is a bit awkward, many of my education studies students go on to teacher training courses, masters degrees or other roles within education

Today my students gave their assessed presentations. First time as a module lead, the organising was a bit stressful but to see everything go smoothly on the day was just fantastic!

Well said - I used to work with a colleague who, as part of a lecture to first year students around the charity model and representations of disability, hung Pudsey. It’s something that has stayed with my during my career!

Every year #ChildrenInNeed perpetuates a certain pity party around children with disabilities. If there wasn’t chronic underfunding of services, we wouldn’t have this issues!

How do people manage to do research (or put together strong research applications) during term-time, while they also have to teach?? 😱 #AcademicChatter

Semester 1 last year was spent juggling teaching with frequent trips to hearing implant clinic. Semester 1 this year is almost complete, thankfully no trips to implant clinic🦻🏻but chasing other referrals, bc this medically complex body likes to keep us on its toes!

Today is #IDPWD2024 it's a day to recognise + celebrate diversity. There is still a long way to go until we gain complete equality, but remember please don't actively avoid people with disabilities, or patronise, instead speak to us, include us within your lives. Be kind, always!
