Nakuru County in collaboration with other stakeholders conducted a clean-up exercise at Lake Nakuru National Park today. The exercise flagged off by Deputy Governor Dr. Eric Korir was aimed at cleaning waste in rivers draining into the lake.

I met Swedish investors from Universal Marketing Enterprises Catalyst Group who intend to set up small waste processing plants in Nakuru. Technology to be used will burn all waste from dumpsites and convert the residue into energy and construction materials.

Attending consultative workshop on securing water towers in Kenya held in Naivasha. Present are Kenya Water Towers Agency Acting Director Dr. Julius Tanui, Water, Environment and Natural Resources CECs from 31 counties. Nakuru County is represented by CEC Dr. Eng. Festus K. Ng’eno, MIEK, CBS.

Hosted JJ Heart run team from Vihiga County in my office before flagging them off. The team, led by Vihiga County Deputy Governor @HonPatrickSaisi is running to raise funds to set up a cardiac centre in Vihiga County Referral Hospital.

I earlier today had a lengthy discussion with a of delegation of partners led by Danish Ambassador to Kenya Ms Mette Knudsen. We looked into areas of collaboration in health and agriculture for the benefit of our people.

At the Naivasha Easter Half Marathon where I represented H.E Governor Lee Kinyanjui. The marathon was organised by MP Jane Kihara and supported by Nakuru County. Event was graced by Sports PS Kassim Farah, who represented Deputy President William Ruto.

Launching free vaccination campaign for livestock against foot and mouth, lumpy skin and rabies in Wei, Waseges Ward in Subukia sub-county. The campaign is aimed at eradicating livestock diseases in the area as animals are a source of livelihood for residents.

At a caucus for CECs of Water, Environment and Natural Resources in Naivasha officially opened by Water Cabinet Secretary Simon Chelugui. Also present was Water and Sanitation CAS Winnie Guchu and Nakuru CEC for Water Dr. Eng. Festus K. Ng’eno, MIEK, CBS who is also chairperson of the CECs caucus.

Attended dairy farmers' field day in Olenguruone. The County Government of Nakuru will continue to support dairy farmers by installing milk cooling plants in areas of milk produce. I was accompanied by Agriculture Chief Officer Enos Amuyunzu.

Today, I opened the World Family Doctor Day symposium at Merica Hotel in Nakuru. There are only 50 registered Family Doctors in Kenya thus the need for more to be trained in the field. Some 52 Cuban Family Doctors are expected in the country to bridge the gap.
