Notwithstanding the Minister’s apparent good deeds on land preservation, he was completely out of order when he reportedly signed an agreement with the US Boeing corporation to purchase several new planes for a new national airline which is yet to be established. 1/3

Many of us felt that the Minister should have avoided ruining the independence of a future airline. We also felt that if the Maltese Government had his way, he would readily embark on projects which hits the points. 2/3

A major procurement of this nature for a new airline should have awaited the setting up a new company, basic agreements amongst the investors, a Board in place, etc before such a major purchase. 3/3
