I was one of the Australian economists who prioritised easing planning restrictions. The NSW Government seems to be doing a good job on this.

Personally, I don’t place heaps of weight on these monthly inflation numbers, but it’s better that they are lower rather than higher. But the Recessionistas demanding further RBA cash rate increases will be furious.

Recessionistas oppose wage rises for nurses, aged care workers and child care workers because, they say, they create a wage-price spiral. They oppose electricity subsidies because, they say, they stimulate the economy. They yearn for a recession as their only policy.

Those so-called economic commentators complaining that only government spending will save Australia from recession sure are keen that we be in recession.

The Recessionistas are angry with government spending - which is keeping the economy out of recession. An economy growing at just 0.2 per cent last quarter can hardly be described as too hot.
