I was at school with McCartney and Harrison. Another school mate introduced them to John Lennon and the Beatles became a reality. Lennon’s lyrics (see text) in the song “Imagine” need to be heeded by world leaders. People don’t make war over race or religion. Their leaders do.

Maybe time for NDP to admit their guilt in cutting back medical school intake (and closing nursing schools) in the 90's? Not sure why BC United Caucus and Conservative Party of BC are not making health care the number one election issue.

A new Angus Reid poll shows that, of the 3 major B.C. parties, the NDP is the most trusted on health care. It’s was the NDP that decades ago cut back medical school intake and closed nursing schools and has led to our crisis. Maybe Carlin was right! globalnews.ca/news/10372504/…

BC Appeal Court diagnosis: 'Wait times in considerable measure flow from government rationing of health care.' The system 'is intentionally under-designed in order to achieve fiscal sustainability; 'That waiting inherently carries the risk of death.'

Ottawa Hospital rents out unused ORs on the weekend resulting in 1,000 extra people getting hip and knee surgery at a reduced cost to the taxpayer. Sounds like a good idea. ottawacitizen.com/news/local-new…

I spoke with a visiting surgeon from Berlin yesterday. I asked how long patients wait for a total hip or knee replacement.
“There’s quite a long wait in the public system”, he said. It could be as long as 5 or 6 weeks”.
“However”, he added, “It’s just days in the private system!”
