It was two years ago I was fortunate to see in Madrid two of the best diplomats who represented (respectively) the European Union and Spain in Iraq: Ambassador ⁦ramon.blecua⁩ and Ambassador ⁦Hansi Escobar⁩.

I chaired a round-table meeting at the Atlantic Council, with a group of researchers. we discussed the situation in Iraq & the region; our bilateral relations& the war in Gaza; also we discussed the Development Road project & its economic & political dimensions.

We were delighted to host H.E. Dr. Fuad Hussein, Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs for a roundtable discussion.
Dr. Hussein discussed Iraqi regional relations, Iraqi-U.S. Relations, and the upcoming visit of PM al-Sudani to Washington in April.
