We were delighted to open up some of the College's historic buildings to the general public today, as part of Heritage Open Days - England’s largest festival of history and culture.

The first trip of the year for boarders was to the historic city of Canterbury. They saw the famous cathedral - England's first, dating back to 597 AD. There was also a trail to follow and the opportunity for some retail therapy.

Over the next fortnight, we will be awareness raising for Youth Mental Health Day on 19th September. This year the theme is #controlyourscroll. In a recent stem4 survey of 1,025 young people, nine in ten (93%) said they had been scared by content online.

Last weekend, Ethan (Prep 4) represented Folkestone Swimming Club at a swimming event in Derbyshire run by Adam Peaty's swimming coach, Mel Marshall. As well as attending sessions on nutrition and land/water training, he met Paris Olympian, Abbie Wood.

Our new tennis activity for boarders, every Tuesday evening has proved popular. It will be great to see their skills develop and benefit from coaching over the term. 🎾🎾🎾

Wilf (Prep 5) was recognised by his cricket club, Sibton Park CC, at their end-of-season awards. Wilf received the U11 Batsman of the Year Award. He is very proud of his accomplishment and is looking forward to winter training.

Grease was the word for our Performing Arts pupils this afternoon! They travelled to the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury to watch a performance of ‘Grease the Musical’.

And just like that, the first full week of the academic year is over. With warmer weather forecast for the coming days, we hope that you have a good weekend. Our boarders are off to Thorpe Park!

Yesterday morning, during our first Prep School Celebration Assembly of the year, Prep 6 spoke about their prefect and class responsibilities. They are looking forward to making an impact this year. #PupilLeadership

Not for the faint of heart, the activity for boarders at the weekend was a trip to Thorpe Park. Pupils had the opportunity to ride on top attraction Stealth (pictured) - a hydraulic launched roller coaster that will propel you from 0-80 miles per hour in 1.8 seconds!

Some of our Lower Sixth girls delivered a lovely assembly this morning on self-improvement. They focused on the importance of healthy relationships, self-appreciation, physical health and expression through music and art. It was a thought-provoking start to the week.

Our U15s took on Claremont School yesterday. Well done to Ffion and Edie who were awarded player of the match in their respective teams. Ffion (left), received this for her great performance in goal, and Edie (right) for her ball control throughout midfield.
