A new London Air Quality alert system has been launched to alert GPs and Emergency Departments in the city 24 hours before high air pollution is forecast and provide useful guidance. This is the first healthcare-targeted air pollution alert of its kind in the UK.

A new ground-breaking study in the USA has found that people living in regions with median levels of air pollution had a 56% greater risk of developing Parkinson’s disease compared to those living in regions with the lowest level of air pollution.

London’s clean air zones are working, according to the University of Bath. Their research shows a significant improvement in air quality since Lez and Ulex were introduced, contributing to a 4.5% reduction in long-term health problems and an 8% drop in respiratory issues.
