When sea turtles hatch from their eggs, they're tiny enough to fit in the palm of your hand. But the largest sea turtle species we encounter in our work, the leatherback sea turtle, can grow to over 6 feet long and up to 1500lbs!

Construction on the Rosalie Conservation Center (RCC) has begun! Our team recently completed the road leading to the RCC, and we hope to have the hurricane-proof building built by the end of this year. We'll continue to share updates on the process!

Signs of a successful hatching event. Sea turtles hatch by breaking out of their leathery eggs, climbing to the surface of the nest, and crawling across the beach to the ocean. When our team checks on a nest and finds it like this, we know that the young turtles have hatched!

Here's one way that #greenseaturtles maintain healthy ocean ecosystems - by grazing on seagrass! Seagrass beds thrive off of regular "trims" from green sea turtles.

Sea turtle size varies between species. A #hawksbill sea turtle can reach about 3 feet long and weigh up to 150 lbs (68 kg), while #leatherback sea turtles can grow to be about twice as long and 10x as heavy!
