I'm a lucky man because the incredible Charlotte Hacking agreed to write a book and a paper with me. Then the brilliant community of UKLA gave us awards for paper and book. And on the same day four pea pods that I grew in my garden were awarded first prize at the local show😃

Not sure who was luckier in terms of the book and paper, Dominic Wyse or me - but I don’t have prize winning peas, so that’s something to aspire to! 😂

Holly Wimbush and I are delighted to be talking about the teaching of grammar as a moral imperative at British Library. Big shout out to the works of David Crystal, Debra Myhill, Dominic Wyse Jennifer Webb Marcello Giovanelli that have inspired, and helped frame this conversation.

I don’t usually share a school’s tweet but this was shared publicly as a good example of an activity during an Inset day. Teachers being asked to line up in the playground to show them how children should be asked to line up. This level of control leads to teachers leaving.

Absolutely yes! Our work on children’s agency and on the teaching of reading and writing is in sync with Michael’s ideas.
