Campsite has been really well organised and kept tidy. Everyone's eaten and are getting settled in now it's dark. Great day for all of the groups, they've done brilliantly. Hopefully a good night under the stars 👍🏕️🌠

Good morning! Everyone's up and getting camp struck before setting out. The sun is shining on us too 😁

After a bit of time in the country park going through some campcraft and navigation skills, all groups are under way, in the sun!

Group 1 doing well. There have been some navigational challenges getting across the common, which has been a great learning experience- groups are figuring their strategies out for when they will be independent on their assessment.

All groups doing well! Safely managing road crossings and everyone is making their way towards the campsite. Great performance and we're now able to give groups a bit more autonomy - great preparation for assessment 👍

And we're in camp! 3 groups in so far, the rest not far away... Now to put those campcraft lessons into practice

We're all in camp, tents are pitched and cooking is underway... some are more creative than others 🤣. All of the groups have done really well today, they're polishing their skills and will be able to be a bit more independent tomorrow!

Good morning! Everyone has had some sleep and it's looking like another lovely day. Camp is slowly waking up, making breakfast and striking tents before a bit of route planning and then we'll be setting off 🏕️

Good morning.. After some training in Horton Country Park, some rucksack adjustment and the all-important route planning, all groups are off! #DofE

All groups are doing brilliantly! Couple of navigational...challenges for one or two groups but they've put themselves right and are all on track. The sun's shining too!

Most groups in camp now, just the last couple to arrive. Tents are all going up in good order - great effort from everyone, some sore feet, but spirits are pretty high! #dofe

Good morning! Pleased to report that there was some sleep last night... All groups are out and in good spirits... Hoping for the sun to break through as well.

Half term saw two DofE Gold groups undertake their DofE training and final expedition in the wonderful Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons of South Wales. More pictures to come but we are really pleased to say that everyone has passed the Gold expedition with flying colours.

Our new Head of Outdoor Education surprised Gold DofE candidate Holly with her DofE Silver certificate. Just the paperwork and residential to complete for Holly and she will be achieving her Gold award too. Perhaps a little more ceremony at one of the royal palaces though.
