My lab enjoyed hosting Alex Caron from TCU this summer to study lipid transport in C. neoformans. Terrific job Alex, and great mentoring from @WUSTLdbbs students Keeley Choy and Ellie Gaylord! @WUSM_MolMicro #DBBSAmgen2022
Cheers to @WUSTLdbbs @WUSM_MolMicro student Daphne Ko on her successful thesis proposal today! Also appreciate great suggestions from her thesis committee, @thegoldberglab, Mario Feldman, @GarciaLabMS, and Heather True.
Impactful words by Carolyn Bertozzi today on how diversity in her trainees enabled creativity, not playing by the rules, and ultimately the work that built the field of bioorthogonal chemistry. Diverse science leads to better science!

Happy to share these beautiful studies about ergosterol transport in C. neoformans, done by Keeley Choy with help from Ellie Gaylord. Two talented and insightful Wash U DBBS graduate students – it’s a privilege to work with them! @WUSM_MolMicro @WUSTLdbbs biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Kudos to Daniel Agustinho, who spearheaded this project to identify natural genomic variants that influence cryptococcal virulence. Our strategy worked beautifully to discover a causal variant with a big influence on virulence–more to come! Michael Brent biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…
My honor to hood Keeley Choy, and a lovely day for the lab to turn out to cheer for her. Look forward to her thesis talk in a few weeks! Congratulations to all the graduating @WUSTLdbbs students! @WUSM_MolMicro
