Y12 - MPs will today debate assisted dying. A good example of the role/pact of e-petitions (Parliament - role, power, backbenchers, etc; representation) and impact a celebrity can have on publicising an issue (Democracy incl. pressure groups)

A sad day for Britain. Passing laws that assert lies the government wish to be true is not something healthy political systems do.

A few people’ve asked about the impact of the Daily Mail’s wokesconegate, on sales of National Trust scones. The ‘scone per visitor’ trends in the 10 days following the news were:

Cheese (non-vegan) = no change
Fruit = no change
Plain = 15% increase

Victory to woke scones 🫡
