Wanted to highlight all the sponsors who support Black In Neuro 🧠 🧠 and their important work. If your organization is on here, congrats! 🎉 If you’re not, now is the time to show your support and commitment.

Here’s how you make the best of canceled flights back to US 🥂 And celebrate Katie Morrison lab’s first accepted paper! Cheers!

So happy to share the first part of our collaboration in trying to understand how distal signals from the gut microbiota could impact the female reproductive tract. Kudos to Ally DePuyt for all the hard work in getting these projects started!

Our latest on long-term effects of pregnancy on the brain is out! This is Bonnie Lee 's first paper for her PhD. In a nutshell we found that past pregnancy improves measures of “brain health” in WT but not in an animal model of increased risk for AD. authors.elsevier.com/a/1j98Z3AAzzl2…

Pups develop their ultrasonic vocalizations differently when raised with daily maternal separation--but is mom listening? We looked into it! Nice work Alekhya Rekapalli Caitlyn Cody onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/jd…

So thrilled for lab undergraduate Laiklyn Luther for being selected to receive an Society for Neuroscience (SfN) TPDA!! Thank you SfN! Excited she can share her hard work on our epigenetic projects at #SfN24 (PS - she’s applying to grad school this year and anyone would be lucky to recruit her 👀)

Excited to share our new work identifying cellular allostatic mechanisms and the impact of stress on sperm mitochondria and motility! Huge thanks to Dr. Tracy Bale 🟧🧠 and all of my coauthors who made this study in mice *and* men possible! Read all about it! nature.com/articles/s4146…

Huge congratulations to Eldin Jašarević and lab on this exciting new work. Continues your team’s focus on important, interesting questions and delivery of compelling answers! To play a small part and get the inside view of this as it developed was such a joy 🎉

This was a fabulous week we spent with 2-4 graders discussing the brain 🧠 and mental wellbeing while doing super fun and hands-on science and art 🎨 funded by The Avielle Foundation. The kids made amazing #FreeLittleLibrary boxes being installed in Aurora and Denver.

Proud of lab members Laiklyn Luther and Twitterless grad student Marissa Nicodemus for their excellent poster presentations at #SfN24 (and all the hard work they put in to get here!). 🧠🐭🧬

Thanks to everyone Ludeman Center for an amazing meeting, and thank you to Dr. Tracy Bale 🟧🧠 and C. Neill Epperson for inviting me to contribute! Very proud of Marissa for her travel and poster awards 🤩 heading home refreshed and full of ideas - the future of women’s health is bright!
