Phase 1 is done 💪 well done Robin. Brief break before 24hrs of blogging 👀 Make sure you’re following him at Breaking More Waves Donate to Solent Mind at justgiving.com/fundraising/di…
Today should have been 1 of our favourite events at Dials Festival - as it can’t happen this year, Robin aka Breaking More Waves has just run 10 miles & is now blogging for 24 hrs fundraising for Solent Mind. Any support will be much appreciated, link in post below. Good luck Robin! 👏🏼
Missing my annual trip to #Southsea for Dials Festival, which should have been happening today. Always a highlight of my year; friendly, an eclectic mix of favourite bands and new ones, and SO MUCH FUN! Plus they raise funds for Solent Mind. Roll on next year ...❤🎸
I don’t know that much about mental health, but given that Dials Festival is run in support of Solent Mind I wanted to at least try and write a few related words today. Not my usual field and I’m writing these quickly so it’s not perfect, but here you go....
The next post featured 2 artists who were booked for Dials Festival separately but have collaborated on a great piece of wonky electronic pop together. Namely Amongst The Pigeons and Tom Wells breakingmorewaves.blogspot.com/2020/10/24-hou…
Robin from Breaking More Waves is paying homage to Pompeys Dials Festival which would have been today! Check out this thread so far, a lovely way to make sure we all get our music fix this weekend 🧡
Looking back to this day in 2015 performing at the first Dials Festival Dials Festival held at various venues on Albert Road, Portsmouth 📸 from the crowd action shot snapped by Grzegorz Kopacz upstairs at Al Burrito, under the watchful eye of stage manager Neil McMahon
Woop! Over £700 raised for Solent Mind now! Thank you everyone who has donated! The posts will be slow and steady now until 9.15am tomorrow morning (probably 1 an hour with a bigger break at tea time). If you still want to donate: justgiving.com/fundraising/di…
So, my good friend Breaking More Waves is doing a personal challenge to try and fill the void someone of Covid-19 cancelled Dials Festival - this time today I should have been excitedly bouncing round a packed Wedgewood Rooms to International teachers of Pop after 12 hours of banging music :-(
Pleased to announce I raised £800 for Solent Mind on Saturday doing my 10 mile run and 24 hour blogathon in the absence of Dials Festival. Hopefully we’ll be back in 2021!
For anyone who wants to hear the music I wrote about on the 24 hour blogathon for Solent Mind as a replacement for the cancelled Dials Festival, here is a playlist of the tracks: (1 isn’t on Spotify so I’ve put another of that artist’s songs on instead) open.spotify.com/playlist/4zVz8…
A quick Great South Blog Run update. The final amount I raised was £820 for Solent Mind. Thank you so much to everyone who donated and supported me in raising this money. You are all awesome!
After the disappointment of last week’s festival announcements, I wrote about the inclusion imbalance across minority groups (with shout outs to Dials Festival & Icebreaker Festival for showing us how it’s done & LibraLibra & The Isle Of CC for being fab) breakingglassmagazine.com/2021/03/29/dea…
