The IFI DiadSea team have completed their eDNA surveys in Ireland! In 2025, the team undertook 4 sampling sessions at the mouths of the Suir and Munster Blackwater. These samples will be analysed using eDNA metabarcoding to detect presence or absence of important fish species

#DiadSea will generate a set of 12 outputs of great value to different #diadromousfish stakeholders, including the scientific community, monitoring and managing authorities, local fisheries, commercial and recreational fishers, and the general public. 🔗diadsea.uevora.pt

Last week IFI hosted the #DiadSea Midterm Meeting in #Dublin. It was great to host our project partners from across Europe for various workshops, presentations and discussions over the 3 day event. 😀

📍USC recently presented #DiadSea at the #ESDOMAR Fair in Galicia, organised by FUNDAMAR - Fundación para la pesca y marisqueo . The guides on diadromous fish species and the Migro’Ocean card game were very well received by adults and children alike. Funded by Interreg Atlantic Area, endorsed by UN Ocean Decade.

📍On October 18-19, the #DiadSea project participated in the #ObservaLagunas Fair. MARE (Universidade Évora) carried out different activities to raise awareness about #migratoryfish, like a talk and a game for children. Funded by Interreg Atlantic Area, endorsed by UN Ocean Decade.
