There's more cool data in this issue - Camilla Di Biase-Dyson take Ancient Egyptian religious texts to reflect on methodological challenges encountered in the study of ancient texts - as well as more evidence for #metaphoricity regarding the conceptualisation of deities.

There is a comet (67P) of which every area is named after an Egyptian god! space.com/29980-rosetta-…. Fascinatingly, some names are not arbitrary, e.g., Hapi for the middle section (like the Nile). The probe giving us information about the comet is, tellingly, called 'Rosetta' <3

For this #WorldTeachersDay, here's an Egyptian writing board in the MET's collection. The apprentice scribe is clearly fumbling with imperfectly formed, unevenly spaced hieroglyphs... which is probably what my Egittologia UniPI students are struggling with now 🙃 #egyptology

Hello archaeologists! Who can recommend a moderately-priced tablet ($EUR/USD 1K or $AUD 1.5K) for use in the field? Does anyone have experience with using e-ink tablets in the field? Thanks!!!
