Dhikr: The Key to Contentment

Allah (subḥānahū wa taʿālā) says in the Holy Qur’ān,

اَلَا بِذِكۡرِ اللّٰهِ تَطۡمَـئِنُّ الۡقُلُوۡبُ

“Truly it is in the remembrance (dhikr) of Allah that hearts find peace” (13:28).

By Allah, if you could hear the sound of the pens of the angels writing your name amongst those who remember Allah, you would die out of joy. - Ibn al-Qayyim (raḥimahullāh)

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ also said, “The inhabitants of Paradise… will praise and glorify Allah as easily as you breathe” (Muslim).

Duʿa to Recite When the Wind Blows

ʿĀʿishāh (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhā) said: “When there would be a windy storm, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say [the below].

Why Do We Read this Duʿa in Laylatul-Qadr

اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّيْ

Allāhumma innaka ʿAffuwwun tuḥibb-ul-ʿafwa faʿfu ʿannī.

O Allah, You are the Ever-Pardoning, You love to pardon so pardon me.
