It may be of interest to observers that New Zealand won "Fossil of the Day" at #COP26 today -- the award for countries that "do the most to achieve the least". The reasoning:

This is an historic breakthrough. The first diplomatic alliance committed to keeping oil and gas in the ground. New Zealand could and should be a full member. To be eligible, our government will need to end onshore gas exploration in Taranaki.

Advocacy from the inside (the chambers of decision making) is just as important as advocacy from the outside. The success of many campaigns including the Zero Carbon Act is off the backs of volunteers outside and MPs who championed this climate law from the inside. @apec2021NZ
