The full moon is out tonight, and the partial lunar eclipse can be seen very well in New Orleans! Who wants to share their pics with us? Who wants to moon me tonight? 😁 Let me know if I can share these here, on other platforms, and on TV too! wdsu (pic: Kanenori on Pixabay)

I want to get ahead of what’s to come. Topical development in the Caribbean is likely next week, and it could move into the Eastern Gulf of Mexico. Right now, data keep the system east of us. I’ll be sure to provide continual updates on this each day. wdsu.com/article/gulf-o…

Isolated downpours around the lake today. Rain chances will continue to decrease and it stays pretty warm through the weekend. Need to talk tropics where a zone in the Western Caribbean really needs to be watched with a sharp eye. wdsu

A few downpours still out today. Isolated showers could persist over the coast into the weekend. We're looking slightly less humid and a bit hot for most of Southeast Louisiana through the weekend too. Tropical updates as well at 5,6, and 10. I'll see you then. wdsu

Here's the latest analysis on today's data for possible tropical development in the Caribbean and possibly Gulf of Mexico next week. TL;DR this storm won't even enter the Gulf for another 6-7 days and the forecast data is still all over the place. wdsu.com/article/gulf-o… wdsu

Good news! The tracks for what's expected to be Helene, are taking a farther east course today! This still looks to stay far enough away from Southeast Louisiana but we'll need to still stay vigilant. Our article has all the latest data. wdsu.com/article/potent…

Tracking isolated downpours off a lake breeze this evening but scattered storms are forecast tomorrow along a cold front. Cooler, less humid days are on their way when what will be Hurricane Helene moves on shore. wdsu

Radar's estimating just under 1" of rain has fallen along the lakefront in Kenner. Donna sent me this pic of the water already filling up the yard! wdsu
