What a year 2024 has been! Follow along for a recap of our favourite memories. In March the DRCC received a science agency report showing an increase in submerged aquatic vegetation in 2021 and 2023 at Peche Island, as well as new species captured in fish surveys!

We're almost through with our 2024 recap! In October fifty native hardwood trees were planted by the Ojibway Parkway walking trail by volunteers. Funding for this project was provided by the Gordie Howe International Bridge Community Benefits Plan. Gordie Howe International Bridge

Our partners monitored the new #fishhabitat at #PecheIsland. Studies show that aquatic veg cover has ⬆️ 10% to 49% in the calm backwater area. 👀: a Redhorse Sucker in the Elodea canadensis (waterweed) that grew as result of the project! #detroitriver #HabitatRestoration #YQG
