Fourth Grade AAP students Mount Eagle ES do turn-around teaching to their classmates about DeBono’s Six Thinking Hats to think critically about developing sustainable housing!
STEM Inspire Club students Mount Eagle ES enjoyed coding in the Scratch program this afternoon!
STEM to Inspire Club students Mount Eagle ES collaborate to design and build 12 inch toothpick and jellybean towers. The constraints were 20 jellybeans, 25 toothpicks, and 6 inches of tape. Way to go teams!!
STEM to Inspire students Mount Eagle ES enjoyed using their 5 senses to hypothesize what materials were inside of mystery boxes!! They loved this activity!!
STEM to Inspire Club Mount Eagle ES members reviewed The Water Cycle this afternoon. For their experiment, they made “storms” in a cup with water, shaving cream, and food coloring.
AAP Level 3 third and fourth grade students Mount Eagle ES, triumphantly completed their first Escape Room challenge in a Google form! Their six challenge questions included critical thinking strategies we’ve covered in class. Way to go remembering these concepts guys!!
This afternoon Mount Eagle ES 5th grade AAP students generated lists and categories, about the concept of Adaptations. These students will be problem solving ways that we will need to adapt, for a healthier environment in the future.
STEM to Inspire students Mount Eagle ES enjoyed learning about moon phases. They made models of this using Oreo 🍪 🍪!
Sixth grade students Mount Eagle ES have learned how to use the Sketchup for Classrooms program, to create their Earthship home blueprints!
Fourth grade scholars Mount Eagle ES are practicing POG skills, as they collaborate with teammates to explore and construct complete circuits as part of their Electricity PBL unit in their STEAM class. During reflection time, they voiced pride in their growth!
Fourth Grade students Mount Eagle ES use POG Goal-Setting skills, as they embark on The Engineering Design Process, to begin their designs for their Electricity PBL. Look at the determination on their faces to let their imagination soar!
Young Scholars students Mount Eagle ES visited Virginia Tech’s Thinkabit Lab today. Each child flourished, as they engaged in coding and robotics activities!

Fourth Grade FCPS STEAM students Mount Eagle ES, participated in an in-school field trip, and marveled as they explored the intricate electrical systems of their school building, to further their understandings of complete circuits for their Electrical Engineering PBL.
Fifth grade AAP students Mount Eagle ES played the strategy game, IZZY for their warm-up! This Thinkfun game promotes spatial awareness skills!
Discovery Studio Engineers Mount Eagle ES designed chicken coops as their culminating project during their spring vacation! This is creativity at its finest!
Fourth grade scholars Mount Eagle ES have focused on Portrait of a Graduate Communicator skills all year. They are now preparing for their Presentation of Learning to share/demonstrate how their communication skills have grown, by making unique projects.
Fourth Grade Discovery Studio students Mount Eagle ES shared their Portrait of a Graduate (POG) Presentation of Learning with Dr. Reid this morning. These students developed projects to show their growth with Communicator skills. Each student brimmed with pride!
Students Mount Eagle ES engaged in STEM labs at TJHSST Techstravaganza event today! They were exposed to 4D printing, AI, and participated in Chemistry and Biology experiments.
